We roll up our sleeves
Summer is coming
We lay back in our bed
Blood swimming in our head
We should be pleased but we are all out of cans
They are our poison
Hair all a mess
Clothes dirty
We don't know what to do
Take a walk
Feel the sun on our back
Summer is here
We should be happy.
I can remember the days when Gin was "Mothers ruin" sadly today everything is bad for us even prescribed medicine. What a dependent people we have become on what does us harm, we really are in trouble.
ReplyDeleteNice to feel the sun on one's back
ReplyDeletemuch love...
we should be happy... so much regret and longing in that....
ReplyDeleteLeave all behind and embrace that sun on our backs...we should be happy. A good write.
ReplyDeleteSometimes we feel we should be happy, it is remainds elusive, in hiding. Still in small ways, it has a way to slipping in to our focus in this present moment. That is all. xoxoxoxohugs
ReplyDeleteWow! I feel the longing for independence from a certain kind of yearning, for a clear head, for joy. I fear you speak for many. You speak beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI am going to take a walk and feel that sunshine today. Hope you do too, my friend.
ReplyDeleteI wonder sometimes if we search to far and wide for happiness instead of looking within...
ReplyDeleteNever liked the "should's." We are happy or we are not. Nice poem.
ReplyDeleteSummer, Winter, Spring, Fall - we should be happy.
ReplyDeleteWe should be happy...tha.t sounds wistful.
ReplyDeleteOh my, this sounds a bit chaotic. I hope all summers were not the same!
ReplyDeleteI don't think one can apply "should" to emotions. They just are. Or not. But I hope for your happiness.
