We look out of the window
The leaves on our tree
Have fallen
Winter is here
The birds have flown
No more berries to pick
Or places to sing
Further away
On the hill
Are bigger trees
They are like bones
Standing tall
Strong
One day we would like
To sit under them
It would be good
To have more magical trees
We look forward to spring
When the skies will be blue
And the leaves green
Glowing in the sun
We never tire of looking
It helps the minutes pass
The tree
The chimney pot
The roofs of houses
Are our world
How lucky we are
To have our special tree.
I love the idea of trees looking like bones - the bones of the earth. It is lovely to have a special tree that we watch through the seasons. A beautiful poem, Jae.
ReplyDeleteHaving a special tree sounds wonderful! And yes, you are lucky to have one.
ReplyDelete"They are like bones"--wow! what an image! I see bare trees, leaves down, as opposed to pine trees. You are lucky to have a special tree. Now that I've moved, I'll have to find a new one.
