Home is bittersweet
A beacon on the horizon
A hunter's snare
A place where things unravel
And are built again
We rest our tired eyes
Try to slumber
Best of all dream
If we cast our mind forward
We can see light
A new realm
Dazzling as ice
Tomorrow we will go there
Watch the clouds move
Outside our window
The birds scavenge for
Winter berries
The crisp sound of
Breaking twigs
The gentle hum of car wheels turning
Church bells ringing
Life moving on
Perhaps
Perhaps
We can be a part of it.
Hi Jae Rose, I like your poem, the way it flows and the imagery it evokes. Perhaps we can be a part of it. Happy New Year!
