The skies are grey
But soft
A gentle spray of rain
A cooling breeze
We like to feel the freshness
On our face
It takes us out
Of the room
Tiny steps away
From what was
To what may be
I hold her hand
It is warm
Soft like the sky
No callouses from working
Just perfect child hands
I hope she will always be close
She squeezes my fingers
Reads my thoughts
I sense there will be
More adventures
More words
More time to play
Soon the sun will come up
We will look out of the window
And embrace it
If we try hard
We will find peace
In our body
And head
Anything valuable
Is worth working hard for
So we will work for peace.
My new favourite of yours. "We will work for peace." And it is within our grasp, at least in our personal lives, when we choose it. Beautiful poem, Jae.
ReplyDeleteI love the freshness, warmth and affirmations everywhere around. Beautiful.
ReplyDelete"Tiny steps away
ReplyDeleteFrom what was
To what may be " Beauty in a beautiful poem, I felt the softness and the peace.
I like this. Indeed "anything valuable is worth working hard for." We must all work toward peace.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful and hopeful take on the prompt.
ReplyDeleteYour peace poem resonates with me, Jae. I especially love the lines:
ReplyDelete‘Soon the sun will come up
We will look out of the window
And embrace it
If we try hard
We will find peace ‘.
