Sunset

The sunsets on pomegranate afternoons
We soak up the yellow
Make our skin glow
Tiny grains of truth
Seeps through every pore
We are alive
Breathing
Hoping
Wishing
All our thoughts gathered in
Safely tucked under blue blankets
We dare to dream
Waste away the afternoons
Look forward to when the light fades
Sunset
Peaceful
Sleep
We play games to make the time pass
But there is nothing like sinking into the red bed
Head ruffled
Body aching
A day complete
We dare to dream
Waste away the afternoons
All is calm and quiet
We sit on our hands
Swallow down the yellow
Waiting for night
And the sweet release of sleep.

  5. "Make our skin glow

Seeps through every pore" How I love the truth on and in our skin! Sunset is now more precious than before.

  6. stunning images, and words playing and toppling into and around one another ~ it's absolutely special - leaving one with the senses awakened and alert, and ready to just dive into the ending of the day, the moments as they linger before the skies darken; just gorgeous! (and even as I read this at the beginning of the day, I'm already longing for a moment like this!)

  10. Oh, this is lovely in its own experience -- wasting away the afternoons can be so wonderful at times, it seems to be the best way to go. I could relate with that.
A dreamy, calming verse with a cloud-like touch.
