We sit in
the room
Always
waiting for something or someone to come
You know
they won't
Alice
giggles
I dust
the powder from my sleeves and wait
My hair a
mess of swirls and twirls
Dancing
and laughing
All the
world a stage
We are
but players
I sit in
the room
Always
waiting for something or someone to come
The cars
chug and splutter a new song
I sit and
wait
Always
waiting for something or someone to come.
good luck.
ReplyDeleteLid is about expectations ain't it. It's like that Jae
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday
Much love...
Life is about expectations, and hope. Loneliness is oft in the waiting...
ReplyDeleteAnna :o]
True enough thanks Anna :-)
DeleteAh yes, "and the men and women merely players" ...

DeleteOh this tugs at my heart, Jae! Beautifully penned!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sanaa
DeleteWhat a sad piece Jae, whether we are "Waiting for Godot" or someone else it is always a lonely reflective time. "The cars chug and splutter a new song" is also brilliant emphasising the realisation that time is flying by and still nothing has happened. You always manage to write with such emotion in a most effective way and the empty plate with crumbs on caps it all.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Old Egg
DeletePeople rarely come to my door either......so when I need to see people, I go out for a walk. Just seeing them walking around, or shopping, does the trick, reminding me there is life out there........I see crumbs on the plate in the photo - I hope it was something really tasty!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was tasty - thanks Sherry :-)
DeleteShe knows "it" is coming.
ReplyDeleteThat she does thanks Martin
Delete"I sit and wait" & Godot never comes...Sigh.

DeleteYes, all the world is a stage, and I guess on this stage we all wear our masks..... It is sad though about waiting to someone or something to come.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary

ReplyDeleteSigh...Waiting sometimes is all we have..
ReplyDeleteThanks Ayala
DeleteSo much of life, seems to feel like waiting. It is the "hurry up and wait." I often feel that way, so in the waiting time, I try to get things done. Try to be ready for when someone comes. I don't like the waiting time, but if I am within reach of a paper and pencil, or paint, I'm OK...and then I can turn it around, and way, "the World is wating for me."
ReplyDeleteI love that thought thank you Annell
