Reprieve

The flowers gape
We are looking up
All too hasty
For an end
Or a reprieve
There is barely a difference any more
We do not flinch
The flowers gape
We are looking up
All too hasty
For an end
Or a reprieve.

  1. I like the title. I stand among the rows of flowers as well, looking up. May it be so. I've never seen so short (or so promising) a Jae Rose poem!

  4. I send you a circle of flowers, for you to sit in - a reprieve. I send you a forest of trees for you to walk through - a reprieve. I send you sunshine and stars, and a peaceful body of water to sing to you - a reprieve for the soul.

The poem is too.Looking up at gaping flowers is not a bad option.

  5. What a surprise, a short poem from you. And the hope in reprieve. May you join those flowers forever in upward gaze

  7. Like Dorothy and the tin man and the cowardly lion, we will skip through the poppies! "We are off to see the Wizard! The Wonderful Wizard of OZ! Because, because, because, because, b.e.c.a.u.s.e...of the wonderful things he does..." Will we ask him for an end or a reprieve? Or anything possible for him, behind the curtain?

  8. Or will we ask him if he knows the way home?

  9. We could learn much from the flowers who remain rooted, yet ever looking upward!

  11. This brought back a memory that forever changed my life. It was my first spontaneous experience of awake dreaming. Just relax and let it happen, and if you hear a voice, please tell her "Hi" from me. She's an incredible teacher,

  15. We are who we are. Sometimes we fit in sometimes we are like a lone moon circling around a planet. It's our life and we live it our way.

  16. There's beauty in that moment, flowers agape and looking up...I hope it's a retrieve not an end. Love the brevity of your poem!
