Chop

The air worms its way through the moon
A kiss we relish and chop
We take an iron sword and swing
The neighbours sting
We need to buy food
The cans shimmy and shine
A full moon we relish and chop
We sing our song
The iron clangs
Blows a kind of order
Our skin stings a crime
Two full moons merging and kissing
The air worms its way through the moon
A kiss we relish and chop.

  1. I love this "We take an iron sword and swing / The neighbours sting" as it's so necessary sometimes. I feel like this sometimes :( & also love the full moon part.

  2. I loved the alliteration in this piece Jae although the reference to the air worming its way through the moon do imply darker deeds. However as always you give us something to think about in your unique poetry.

    1. "do" in the first sentence should be "does".

There are warning signs before a crime is about to be committed. It is just not discovered in time!

  13. I, too, am puzzled by the use of the word chop. It perhaps has a meaning with which I'm not familiar. Thought provoking read!
