Blossom

Alice strokes her hair
She is a child blossom
We whisper in the night
Guarded and declining
We take a trip to the bookcase
Twice closet
We drop a smile and bellow
It is hard to deny the slide down
We rent time and stoop to endure it
Alice strokes my hair
She is a child blossom

  1. In our rush to grow up we do not see the joy we are abandoning that we will look back on with such longing in years to come. In growing up we slide down (the rabbit hole probably) and lose our innocence ever yearning for the good old days that are now out of reach...then must endure time's punishment. I seem to have read quite a lot in this poem Jae!

  8. I love that beautiful "child blossom". As each child surely is. "We rent time and stoop to endure it" strikes me. My wish for you and Alice is that you soar. Swoop about in that wide blue sky. I always love reading you, my friend.

  11. I too love the words 'child blossom'....intriguing what I feel during this poem...some sadness when I read, 'We rent time and stoop to endure it'...if we could only learn to own time and enjoy it what joy we could embrace.

  13. 'a child blossom' - there is something bitter-sweet in that image - and exquisitely evocative.

Such is the danger faced by most, to be distracted. Though many too managed to effect some form of control. Great words Jae!

  16. I wonder if we would appreciate time more if we remind ourselves that all of it is, indeed, rented...
