She takes my hand
In hers
If I could
I would cry
Home is so very far away
Mother took away
Our dreams
She dances
With our soul
The rain pours down our window
The fresh green grass
Filters up our nose
A Strange dance
Of hunger
And belonging
We do not know
Where to go
What to do
Who to become
We reach out
To mother
Our nemesis
And love
All that takes us home.
".Mother took away
ReplyDeleteOur dreams
She dances
With our soul "
This poem is well expressed, Jae. The idea of a mother dancing with one's soul is so very vivid.
The space when mother is our nemesis must be very painful. However there's love too, to take us home. Beautiful Jae, as always.
ReplyDelete"Mother took away our dreams. She dances with our soul" is so powerful, and sad. Yet, in the beauty of your words, and the gift of your poems, we see all that Mother perhaps is too blinded to see and, to us, you shine.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to know what to do, where to go without the mother rudder. I still think, what would she do? or think of me now? at times. Most the time.
ReplyDelete'Mother took away Our dreams She dances With our soul' Very powerful and gripping Not all mothers are good at being mothers
ReplyDeleteYes, that would make it hard indeed to know where home is. Perhaps we all eventually need to find it in ourselves.
ReplyDeleteA mix of emotions!
