The radio mumbles in the background
We choose our bandwidth
And cover our ears
Do you remember the past
She asks
I feel her breath on my face
I am not ready to say
I promised to bury it
Walk away and wonder
Just like the last time
I am sorry
She says
I take her hand
No need to apologise
Little cricket
We turn the dial
Try and make the sound clearer
With each twist there is total sound
We don't know what result
We will find
It is all just noise
Talking or music
Static or silence
We sink into the day
Get swept along
In the bandwidth.
I like the progression in this poem, the trying to make the sound clearer, and the eventual getting swept along in the bandwidth. Just how my day is going, too.
ReplyDeleteVery expressive how people can get swept along in the bandwidth
ReplyDeleteAh yes, even in the bandwith tuning, the day promises surprises
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday Jae
Stay Safe
Much🌷love
oh yes, tune in to the bandwidth that makes you happy. :)
ReplyDelete"It is all just noise... We sink into the day"
ReplyDeleteJust how I so often feel. I like this poem
We're too often "swept along in the bandwidth", and we need be cautious to what we're tuning in!
ReplyDeleteIts is noise but strangely comforting especially if we live by ourselves.
ReplyDeleteThere is something very calming about this.
