Factory

The train moves past the factory
Blue brickwork and dreams
We are sent on a dusky wild scent
Framed like blocks
Composed like a book
Front cover
Middle
End
Turning pages
Sent on a mission
Her eyes move gently
Her hands clasp the paper
Turning pages
Building dreams
The train moves past the factory
We watch and wait
Hope for a whistle and steam
A presence and hope.

  1. As I read this a feeling of melancholy came over me as gentle words of the narrator were one of dreams and scent and hope from the start to the end. Beautifully written Jae.

  2. Lovely, especially the waiting for a presence and hope. The train past the factory is cool. I love trains, would love to take a long clickety-clacking ride somewhere. Always lovely to read you, Jae.

  3. Ah, the mechanical setting punctuated with the composition of a book is such an interesting parallel, binding these elements of existence. This bit touched my heart: "Her hands clasp the paper/Turning pages/Building dreams".

  4. This feels like the first steps towards freedom, or at very least an adventure worth having.
