It must have been a rough night
The dead bird is on the floor
Again
Trip
Bang
Warning
Dangerous
Drop
The only thing
Dropped
Is
My
Face
Hurts
As it falls
On the carpet
Take a look
At the sun
It will be done
Soon
Packed up
Fedexed
With the last traces of rainbow
Dust
I am still going
A railing not quite strong enough
To
Stop
Me
Feeling
Sick
We were told to close our eyes
But we saw
We
Saw
Everything
A vapour trail of
Heat
I will wear my necrotic crown
Like an asbestos container
It must have been a rough night
The dead bird is on the floor
Again.
Perhaps because it is so fresh I have tears, I couldn't listen to Silent Night played in a church concert last night, I cried. Oh those tiny little birds. Amazing write Jae.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Christine..fragility can be heart breaking..
DeleteIt must have been. But thankfully, morning still came.
ReplyDeleteThankfully so..thank you Kim..
DeleteLife is so precious and beautiful it terrible that it can be snatched away for no reason. It matters not whether it is a child's or an adult's, but when you realise that love is not enough but is the only thing we have, we offer that, necrotic crowns notwithstanding; totally ignored in fact.
ReplyDeleteLove makes for the prettiest crowns..just harder to stick it together...thank you OldEgg..for a shinier hope..
DeleteOnce again your writing simply blows me away... wow
ReplyDeleteThank you scape..
DeleteOld rainbows turn to dust and birds fall, but birds and rainbows will come again, and life has its means and ways that remain forever invisible to us.
ReplyDeleteInvisible but present..I hope I hope..thank you Ann..
DeleteBeautiful ... the sun being fedexed ... amazing piece !!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Green Speck..
DeleteEach idea packed in as so sharp and crisp. Done very well. Thnaks and gud wishes!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much..
DeleteMy commebt disappeared...is this a sign. You have written a wonderful piece...so hard to see the big picture, or the details of this one. Each person turns to another and asks the question, what can be done?
DeleteI guess the only person who can answer the question is the one who is asking..except that person doesn't quite know what the right question is thank you Annell x
DeleteLovely one
ReplyDeleteThank you Atob..
DeleteNecrotic crowns and asbestos containers hold within their depths a mutated shade of my grey matters are grim but on mornings after nights where the dead bird lays on the floor again as if it has no better place to be I begin to realize how very lucky I am...musta been a rough night...
