It’s just a storm in a teacup
Declares Alice
We have weathered far more
I wish I could laugh
Or cry
Perhaps I am skirting the edges again
But I do feel solid
Not as tough as stone
But maybe as a thick tree trunk
I have visions you see
Shopping trolleys
Electric lights switching off
People coming too close
It makes me wake up
Kick and call for help
I check the locks
Check check check
But inside I know I am safe from this storm
I have sturdy shoes
And kitchen knives
Outside the sky is grey
Droplets of rain falling down
No sign of bad weather
I reach out for her
Wake up with a jolt
A flash of lightening
Whatever happens I whisper
All will be well.
