Comes freedom
We have our routines
Our rituals
They keep us safe
A window into the world
The trees are falling down
Wonderland is crashing
No more Hatter
No more cream teas
She swings her legs
In glee
Just you and me
She giggles
Just you and me
I conclude
The strange men cannot
Touch us
We will always be together
Dreaming
Being
Through that we are free.
I can see Wonderland tipping, those trees falling over. But you and Alice safe and together on solid ground.
ReplyDeleteAh yes indeed, dreaming is indeed freeing. As is being.
ReplyDeleteOur imaginations free us in meaningful ways. :)
ReplyDeleteDaydreams are so wonderfully freeing, especially when reality feels a bit too much.
ReplyDeleteCurses!! "No more cream teas?" however will you make it! A lovely write, Jae. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteLove this! "Those strange men cannot touch us." The child-like innocence.
