I wait for the call
The fall
The unbearable loss of being
Hasn’t that happened already
She whispers
Everything is cherry stained
Dirty
Sick and tired
Cherry pies and flies
There you go blooms Alice
She is wearing woodland flowers
Crash
Fall
Stall
Brick
Wall
We have to begin again
Quick sticks
Spring through
Thick snow
Slow breaths
Hung low
Deep sleep
Keep safe
The trees bough
Reach my knees
So very tired
Impossible chill
Sticks like butter
Curled on the floor
In the night
I made the deal
Years ago
Bullet proof
Skin tight
Complete
No joins
No room
For what comes next
It connects every inch of me
To this sentence
I will never get out
No matter how hard I try
It comes out loud
She wipes my lips
Not astonished or proud
I guess that is why she is here
There is no one else to tell
Seventy years
I think
I would hope for less
She says
Past a hundred
There is nothing much left to wander
The cold water
Takes me to the field
The one with the silver stream
Where chocolate powder hangs from trees
And dreams go on forever
She giggles
She lies on the floor
Holds my hand
That’s a nice thought
We say together
We wait for the call
The fall
The unbearable loss of being.

Apologies if we can't get back to your posts and replies - we are all at sea - says Alice :~
Being all at sea now seems less attractive that I was hoping for! However dreaming is the next best thing to doing and doing can sometimes be a disaster. What could be better than your dreams going on forever. That sounds good to me Jae.
ReplyDeleteThank you Old Egg - I did think of you when adding the postscript..I guess there is a difference between being at sea and taking a leisurely cruise...thank you for sailing with us...
DeleteSeventy years! Obviously had seen a lot of life in the open. Hank's corresponding posting given below! Thanks Jae and a Happy New Year!

Or too much time trapped inside - thank you too Hank
Delete"the unbearable loss of being"...know that.
ReplyDeleteWell done.
Thank you Gail - I hope it passes...eventually
DeleteAh, at sea...the way to be ...dreams, dreams... always stay with us
ReplyDeleteGood ones and bad ones...we hope for the former..thank you kindly humbird xo
DeleteI know the feeling well. I try to dream during my waking hours. More interesting
ReplyDeletethat way. Of course you do have Alice for fun conversation. Wonderful, Jae!
Lucid dreaming...yes, unfortunately can't do that these days without a few cherry drops on board but i remember...you can borrow Alice if you like...i am sure she could do with a new conversation ;) thank you kindly Purple
DeleteI do like the storytelling you seem to swing through, first one way, then the other. the images tend to hold me, and ask to be read again. : )
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Mama P - i think it's safe to say we don't know if we are Port or Starboard most of the time :~ i am glad the images were some kind of anchor though..thank you
DeleteI want to go to that field. I'm looking at the sea from my window as I write this - can't see you and Alice yet!
ReplyDeleteVisit Keith's Ramblings!
Thank you very much Keith - it's not a bad field but one not to be in a rush to reach! We would be the two pasty girls in the upturned umbrella..i would be swearing like a sailor..Alice singing (like Rosey maybe!)...
DeleteMy friend, I am only now beginning to try to catch up on what I've missed this holiday season. I feel that "unbearable loss of being" for you, and it pains my heart. "We are all at sea" says Alice. I throw you a life preserver. For your life is so valuable and worth preserving.Keep paddling, fellow voyager. We travel with you, calling encouragement, like the wild geese.
ReplyDeleteI hear that and thank you Sherry...i think we are bobbing this week not so submerged..
