At Her Feet

I go to her
Her feet
The light at her feet
I see the numbers
Seven
Eleven
Nineteen
Nine
Maybe it is a grid reference.
A place to find words to believe in.
I imagine her
I see her
Sitting quietly in pale blue
Waiting
Wanting
I imagine my fingers rumpling his curly hair
Soft
Like no life has touched it
Pure
I run my fingers over the dimples of his cheeks
Soft
Like no life has touched it
I hold on tight to Alice
Take enough from the bag that I need
But not too much
Just enough to dampen down the festival inside
The place of burst balloons
Sour cake
And candles
Ones you can blow out
Or make larger
I quietly count
I quietly whisper
I believe
I believe
I believe.

All is quiet, perfect to read your words. You can believe in words, words of your own, words that describe your world. I love to hear you whisper.

As long as their is light (candles), there is hope. I believe too, Jae!

We all have to believe in more than just words, but the words are a good place to start.

The Virgin Mary, the baby Jesus, candles, Hymn numbers on the wall. It's all here in this piece. Keep believing Jae. Where there is life, there is always, always hope.
Beautiful write again. Merry Christmas Jae. I am praying the New Year will usher in such good things for you.

Jae Rose, the repetition is effective in this poem.

Really liked the ending:

"I quietly count
I quietly whisper
I believe
I believe
I believe."

I really like the ending, too, Jae. And I like that she is limiting what she takes from the bag. Soon, the bag itself will be completely unnecessary, in fact, cumbersome. She will be well and free and no longer in need of its contents. That is what the new year has to offer. Blessings, Jae Rose!

Fact and fiction, hopes and dreams, love and hurt, words and thoughts all placed there for us to see. But we don't see do we? We can't squeeze down that rabbit hole with Alice. Have a beautiful Christmas.

I know families who stop having santa when the kids stop believeing in him - if you believe, you receive.

Keep whispering and believing!

Hope you have a peaceful and warm Christmas :)
